Introduction at 6:45 p.m. (German)
During this therapy session, musician Viviane Chassot needs more than a glass of water – indeed, a three-course menu would be more the order of the day for her to keep her strength up. Jürg Kienberger is the musical therapist who digs deep, with skill and humour, and talks about exhaustion and uncertainty. Together they have a drink and a think – about the mystery of water and the features of a water droplet. How it has a capacity to remember and a preference for Bach, Mozart and Haydn, and how it demonstrates changing crystalline forms under a microscope. Kienberger sings and accompanies, on the grand piano, on glasses and on an aquaphone. Then he gets his patient into pop and rock music. They improvise and dance until they are out of breath – away from the notes on the page and from the need to breathe.
